JC61 – HSE Advisor (Projects Team)
Location – Hybrid – Leatherhead, Surrey
Salary – £Competitive + Vehicle Allowance

Overview:

First Military Recruitment is working in partnership with our reputable client who is seeking a HSE Advisor to join their commercial projects team working on projects based within the M25, but will also be office based in Leatherhead, Surrey. This is a hybrid role where there will be a mixture of site visits and office based working.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Management of CDM & SHEQ across the Contract and Project area to ensure all work is undertaken to external and internal standards, guidelines and statutory requirements including CDM 2015.
  • Multiple internal and stakeholder management.
  • To deliver training and assist with the development of the project team with regards to all aspects of SHEQ.
  • Reviewing of risk assessments and method statements considered high risk projects.
  • Ensuring temporary works are completed in line with procedures and legislations.
  • Ensure all reportable data (Near Misses, Accidents, RIDDORs, Loss Event Incidents, Waste, Water, Energy, Social Initiatives, Volunteering etc.) is recorded accurately on the contract and Projects.
  • Act on the findings of Visits and Audits that relate to CDM Activities- providing feedback on trends and investigation of preventative measures.
  • Actively promote and drive Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
  • Engage with any Safety programs.
  • Lead key investigations and liaise with stakeholders.
  • Hold close out meetings where applicable, to ensure incidents/ investigations are fully closed and firm action plans with recommendations are presented to the Accident Incident Review boards.
  • Form strategic relationships with the HSE/EHO’s and other appropriate industry forums.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience of a CDM role within the construction, Utilities sector, FM, or related industries.
  • Understanding of construction, M&E and FM technology and methods.
  • Demonstrable experience relevant SHEQ legislation.
  • NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction or General Health and Safety.
  • High degree of familiarity with contract and subcontract documents, terms, and conditions.
  • Demonstrable ability to create harmonious, collaborative working relationships and effective partnerships.
  • Ability to provide creative solutions to issues/problems.
  • Professional membership to IOSH and APS (desirable).
  • Have worked in the property & construction sector for the last 2 years in a H&S capacity.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
