Overview
First Military Recruitment is seeking a skilled and motivated Repairs & Maintenance Manager. This role is crucial in enhancing the customer experience by ensuring the effective delivery of repairs and maintenance services. The position is fixed-term for six months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and organizational needs.

Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Management: Oversee the operational delivery of high-quality repairs and maintenance services, ensuring all work is conducted efficiently and meets standards.
- Void Repairs: Manage void repairs through coordination with surveyors and contractors, ensuring timely completion to minimize void periods.
- Strategic Planning: Contribute to setting the strategic direction and budgets for the managed services, ensuring alignment with the goals.
- Customer Engagement: Lead the resolution of customer complaints and foster strong engagement with residents, ensuring satisfaction and compliance with best practices.
- Reporting and Data Management: Establish effective reporting mechanisms for repairs data to monitor services, identify future demands, and inform service delivery plans.
- Team Leadership: Provide line management to the Housing Services Repairs Team, including setting objectives, conducting performance reviews, and supporting professional development.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all statutory and regulatory health, safety, and compliance standards are met across the residential estate.
- Financial Management: Manage budgets for reactive repairs, disrepair, and voids, ensuring accurate forecasting and financial control.
- Contract Management: Oversee key service contracts, ensuring performance monitoring, value for money, and effective collaboration with contractors.
- Governance: Ensure compliance with all University policies and external regulatory requirements, and maintain high standards of health and safety management.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience in repairs and maintenance management within a housing or facilities management environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to manage budgets, contracts, and service delivery to a high standard.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage positively with residents and stakeholders.
- A commitment to delivering customer-focused services and improving tenant satisfaction.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance requirements.
