Overview:

First Military Recruitment is working in partnership with our client to recruit a Technical Engineer to join their team in Inverness, Scotland.

My client is seeking a highly skilled individual to manage a cost-effective, efficient, and customer-focused service. The successful candidate will ensure that all services comply with both legislation and client specifications.

The successful individual will be responsible for overseeing technical solutions across their area, ensuring tasks are completed profitably and successfully. This includes delegating tasks, providing training, and supervising and mentoring the technical team.

Additionally, they will ensure the welfare and safety of all employees and sub-contractor staff on projects, maintaining strict adherence to health, safety, welfare, and environmental regulations. The successful individual will also be tasked with maximising the profitability of each contract under their control, while ensuring full satisfaction of all contractual requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the Technical Director.
  • Develop and implement processes and procedures within the technical team, focused on temporary works, lift planning, CPP’s, RAMS and other technical areas as necessary.
  • Delegation of tasks, training, supervision and mentoring members of the technical team.
  • Deliver projects and evaluate design solutions.
  • Coordinating with project teams to optimise procurement of appropriate materials and plant.
  • Prepare project specific RAMS & CPP’s.
  • Manage client relationships, agreeing programmes and other deliverables.
  • Project planning from tender to final account.
  • Design and develop engineering solutions including temporary works.
  • Compile and manage RFI Schedules.
  • Compile Health and Safety File documentation (As-Built File).
  • Use oral and written methods effectively for the communication of technical and other information to professionals, elected members and any other 3rd Parties.
  • Receiving and assessing design changes from the client.
  • Carrying out precise works to project specifications.
  • Attend site design, review and progress meetings.
  • Direct point of contact between the client and the company.
  • Facilitate agreement of variations.
  • Liaise with clients, local authorities and any other 3rd parties to progress works.
  • Attend training for the upkeep of professional competencies.

Skills and Experience:

Essential:

  • CSCS Card.
  • Temporary Works Co-ordinator.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Good team management.
  • Minimum 5 years Site experience in civil works.
  • Results orientated.
  • Good problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001.
  • General IT literacy.
  • Driving Licence.

Desirable:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • First Aid.
  • SMSTS.
  • Experience of CDM Regulations.
  • BSc Civil Engineering.
