Salary: £50,000 – £70,000 Per Annum
Working Hours: Monday – Friday
Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently supporting one of our established and expanding HVAC clients within Gloucestershire in their search for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer
This role involves designing and engineering smoke ventilation systems in compliance with the latest fire safety and building regulations
This role is ideal for an engineer with strong experience in ventilation system design, who is comfortable working on multiple projects and collaborating closely with internal teams, contractors, and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design HVAC and ventilation systems in line with project specifications, building regulations, and relevant standards
- Produce detailed mechanical design drawings, calculations, and technical documentation
- Carry out airflow calculations, duct sizing, equipment selection, and system layouts
- Coordinate designs with other disciplines, including electrical, architectural, and structural teams
- Support projects through all design stages, including concept, detailed design, and construction
- Respond to technical queries and provide design support during installation
- Ensure designs are compliant with current legislation, industry standards, and best practices
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer within the HVAC industry
- Strong background in ventilation system design (residential and/or commercial)
- Good working knowledge of relevant standards and regulations (e.g. Building Regulations, BS, CIBSE guidelines)
- Experience using design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar HVAC design tools
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and coordination skills
