ML51- Senior Principal Designer / CDM Consultant

Salary: £50,000- £55,000

Location: Liverpool.

Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Senior Principal Designer / CDM Consultant on behalf of one of our clients.

Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Collaborate closely with the project team including the client and designers to deliver Principal Designer services ensuring compliance with CDM regulations
Manage the pre-construction phase, including preparation and collation of pre-construction information, lead CDM Workshops and contribute to the development of design safety strategies for construction, end use and future maintenance activities
Liaise with various stakeholders on projects client, principal contractor, architect, design team and keep them updated in relation to H&S/ CDM matters
Carry out site inspections/compliance audits Prepare Health and Safety files and review operation and maintenance manuals
Develop client relationships and build new ones
Under supervision the role includes the ability to contribute to and develop bid submissions and fee proposals
You will be aware of new work opportunities and potential new clients, as well as maintenance of existing clients
You will need to work closely with both external clients and internal Partners

Skills and qualifications:

Extensive experience of overseeing the design risk management process including running CDM workshops
Skillset to challenge designers to ensure safe methods of construction are established during the pre-construction phase
participation in the access and maintenance process including plant replacement strategies
An understanding and experience of the design and construction process and the principles of risk reduction
In depth knowledge of the CDM regulations and associated legislation
NEBOSH Construction Certificate or similar technical or professional qualification
Be an Associate member of the Association for Project Safety or/and technical membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH)

Salary: £50,000- £55,000
