JB418: Estimator

Salary: £28,800 to £45,000
Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking an Estimator on behalf of one of our clients.
To calculate and prepare tender submissions, working out what a contract will cost to deliver, whilst ensuring it returns the required profit.
Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be considered.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure quotations are issued accurately and on time.
- Raise queries with information received with the relevant parties effectively and efficiently.
- Make sure all offers comply with Health & Safety Regulations.
- To ensure all specifications submitted are compatible with the works required.
- Provide contract documentation to our branches upon receipt of order and to make sure all necessary credit checks have been completed prior to this.
- Assist relevant contracts staff with project programmes when needed.
- Attend sites as and when required in order to take measurements or training etc.
- Prepare Tenders/offers in accordance with all our procedures as set out on Estimating information sheets and by required return date.
- To prepare tenders/offers from architects drawings and/or site visits.
- To estimate the type and amount of materials necessary to deliver the contract against the agreed specifications.
- To estimate the cost of labour, plant, equipment and overheads.
- To liaise with Contracts Manager/Supervisor/Design department, by handover meeting, on receipt of order, to communicate pricing information of the tender.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Adaptability/ business awareness/ detail handling/ initiative/planning and organising/roofing industry/plant/safety and communication.
- Experience of flat roofing estimation is essential.
- General computer awareness.
- Valid CSCS card
